How you study
Online study combines scheduled live sessions with guided preparation, independent work and digital learning resources. Discussions, case analysis, peer feedback and collaborative activities support interaction with educators and fellow students.
The GC Engine learning platform brings together learning materials, communication tools, assessment submission, feedback and progress monitoring. You prepare for live sessions using the resources provided, take part in scheduled activities and complete independent study around the teaching timetable.
Assessment and the Final Project
Assessment includes essays, case studies, research-based assignments, practical projects and examinations combining multiple-choice and short-answer questions. Each module uses assessment methods suited to its learning outcomes, with marking criteria and feedback supporting your progress.
The Final Project in Communication and Media Studies carries 12 ECTS and brings together independent research, analysis and project development. Written work and an oral presentation demonstrate your ability to apply knowledge, explain your decisions and communicate your findings.
Technology and accessibility
Study requires reliable access to a laptop or desktop computer, an internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. Smartphones and tablets support access to learning resources, while a computer is required for activities and assessments that need a larger workspace or specific applications.
Production activities use suitable image and audio-recording tools, including a smartphone camera where it meets the module requirements. Module information explains the relevant equipment, software and associated costs.
The GC Engine supports text enlargement and adjustable video playback speed. Multilingual video captioning is available on request. Additional accessibility needs are considered individually, with adjustments tailored to the learner and the activity.
Learning resources and student support
The platform provides access to digital learning materials and a library search interface that brings together open-access academic resources. Reading lists connect independent study with module topics, assignments and research.
LMS orientation introduces the platform, learning resources, communication tools and assessment submission. Academic, administrative and technical guidance supports participation and progress, with support requests directed to the appropriate member of staff.
